ACCOUNTABILITY
Attestation of Compliance:
We comply with the Public Sector Accountability Act 2010 and directives for April 2024 to March 2025.
Participation House Markham is considered a Broader Public Sector (BPS) organization and is therefore required to establish rules with respect to perquisites. These rules must cover all individuals in the organization. The term perquisites, or perks, refers to a privilege that is provided to an individual or to a group of individuals, provides a personal benefit, and is not generally available to others. A perquisite is not allowable if it is not a business-related requirement. To be allowable, a perquisite must be a business-related requirement for the effective performance of an individual’s job.
In accordance with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Service’s Attestation of Compliance with the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, 2010 and Associated Directives, Participation House Markham hereby identifies that the organization does not give perquisites to its staff and appointees.

WHAT IS DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES ONTARIO (DSO)?
Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) is the gateway to adult developmental services funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) in Ontario. There are nine DSO locations across the province.
When you turn 18, children's developmental services like Special Services at Home, Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities, and the Ontario Autism Program end. To access adult MCCSS-funded supports, you must apply through DSO to check your eligibility for community services.
By connecting with your local DSO, you can:
• Understand and complete the application process
• Determine the types of services and supports you need
• Access MCCSS-funded services and supports when they become available
• Find information and resources in your community
